Win some, lose some, drop some.

Recall my Baby Ben clock I scored at a local flea market?

Lovely little fellow. He was getting a smart makeover with some chrome paint for around the face, and bright orange paint for the body.

He was.

Sometimes life does unexpected things, like cause you to stumble while carrying the freshly spray painted orange backing of the clock, causing it to leap from your hands and bounce across the back deck. But then the Universe gives back, when you pick it up and realize that there is just one ding in the paint – very manageable. And then the Universe snort-laughs at you and you drop it, paint-side down onto the back door mat. And you pick it up and think “Well, I will just have to let it dry and–” and then you turn to take it back to the lab when you DROP IT AGAIN ARE YOU SERIOUS FACE DOWN ON A MAGAZINE?

Cripes.

I peeled it off, set it down and photographed the damage, because I share everything with you, even when I fail. Especially when I fail.  Hey, you know who will commiserate with me? Steve. He’s so nice. I’ll just go tell him – oh he’s watching a video with his headphones on. I’ll tap him on the shoulder and show him the pic—oh.

Oh.

So I’m off to find a DIY removal recipe for spray paint on linen. New linen. First time he’s ever worn it linen.

Tomorrow, I’ll show you how to build a doghouse.
