Garden progress

It’s been fits and starts with this year’s garden. We expanded, taking over a perennial patch, and found that last year’s patch – which produced superhero amounts for its size – was a bummer this year. The new patch has its successes and failures, as we experiment with available light (there’s a catch to having lovely trees and hedges).

But it’s chugging away, producing an amazing amount of herbs that have been frozen in oil in Round 1 – and I’m planning to freeze as much as I can this way so as not to let autumn take any of these great flavours back. Here’s the haul for dinner tonight:

I often google a couple of raw ingredients to see what recipes pop up – it’s a great way to find a specific recipe, or just a bit of inspiration. So tonight I’m thinking of a bean salad with crispy prosciutto and onion. What do you think?
