Some of the best cupcakes I have ever tasted (and I have tasted a few…dozen…hundred) have come from Crystal at Gateaux Rose. So if I am to attempt fancy baking, I will head to her site and check out the recipes. I always fall to a basic icing recipe, but why not branch out? She has a great recipe for vanilla bean mousseline buttercream (oh la la!) and as a bonus, her almond cream pound cake recipe is there as well!
