Since the site has a fresh new look today, we’d thought we’d launch it with a submitted project that is a terrific example of how ingenious DIYer’s can be. Stephanie and Alex, from TwoZeroOne, were working on their home renovation when they were faced with a twin set of issues. First, the small window that perhaps could have been bigger:
And then there’s the issue of where to put the great big plasma TV. Stephanie didn’t want it sitting above the fireplace, making a feature of itself. The solution was pretty smart…
First, the window is given the illusion of being far bigger than it is with an extended curtain:
Gorgeous, yes? But wait, what about the TV? What about the TV indeed:
It was behind the curtain the whole time. Stephanie says “Now when people visit our home for the first time they often remark about the lack of a TV in our home, which typically is the cue for Alex to move the curtains and reveal our hidden TV.”
Steve is jealous, Stephanie – and will probably now try to figure out how we can hide a large appliance somewhere in the house.
